Treasure Map Bears – Lampwork Glass Sculpture
A richly layered pair of bears made with transparent silver glass, fractured silver foil, swirling with iridescence and mystery. Adorned with stone effect maps across the surface, as well as textured spirals and glass droplets.
These two are much much bigger than my standard bears, giving room for even more detail.
These bear beads are made in layers of specialty glass, infused with silver. Gorgeous colours of turquoise and pale blue sheen with crackled foil and adorned with droplet trails and spirals, these beads are unique, each has been individually sculpted in hot glass, no two are exactly the same.
Measurements: Large Bear 61 x 70 x 30mm, Stand measures 113 x 73 x 60mm
Comes with the custom solid oak stand with a stainless steel peg for each bear
These were selected for the International Bead Biennale 2024
I make my lampworked glass beads and marbles one by one using soda lime glass in my Devon studio, they are cooled very slowly in my digitally controlled kiln in a process called annealing for strength and durability.
