Recently I’m quite often to be found demonstrating lampworking as Guest Artist at Teign Valley Glass at the House of Marbles in Bovey Tracey, Devon. Generally Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Sundays, but that’s not set in stone, so if you’d like to see me working, do check first!
Some of you may have noticed my posts on Social Media. Or you may not, Facebook and the like do seem to hide them from time to time…
My bench is just in front of the glassblowers (yes its very hot!) at the edge of the beautifully glass filled gallery space.
What can we see you making?
I tend to have a selection of glassy things on display, and as for what I demonstrate, that’s a bit of whatever has been ordered, or whatever takes my fancy. On any given day I may make birds, feathers, bears, pendants or marbles!
Sometimes I’ll do requests, but only if I’m in the mood!
Commissions are another matter, I will of course take certain bespoke orders.
Do pop by for a chat, or drop me an email.
Personally, though I’m very biased, I think that the House of Marbles is a great place to visit. In addition to the extensive gift shop, there are two museums, a restaurant, several marble runs to watch and of course the glassblowing demonstrations and gallery. You can round it all off with a lovely walk on nearby Dartmoor. Haytor and the old Quarry are some favourite spots. Though if you haven’t had quite enough Art and craft in your day, head on into Bovey Tracey town and take a look at Make South West.
Right, enough of sounding like a tourist information brochure! I look forward to seeing you soon!
If you’ve already found me at the House of Marbles and you’re interested in my work, there’s the about me page, the shop page, my Etsy shop and of course Facebook and Instagram
