Poppy Design Purple and Red, Oak Veneer Clock

Clock made with a Poppy design cut out in oak veneered board with a graduated background of red fading to purple and then a darker purple at the bottom.

I started with a digital drawing that I did, spent far too long adjusting the design and cutting tests so the delicate pieces wouldn’t fall off! then laser cut this from oak veneered board I’d prepared , I painted a graduated background in acrylic paint, sanded and finished all the pieces with a clear protective coating and assembled them, and fitted the clock mechanism to it.

This one features a sweep or ‘silent’* movement, the second hand doesn’t tick, just smoothly glides around the clock face.

Measures 18.5cm wide x 27.5cm tall x 4cm thick (inc hands and mechanism, the board part is approx 8mm thick.
hangs from the integrated hanger on the clock mechanism.
takes one standard AA battery (not included)

Not designed for damp or steamy environments such as a small kitchen
